Light the G Update!! #2

They did change the practice due to the homecoming rehearsal.  The practice for the Light the G concert will be TUE. Sept 28th DURING LUNCH in the auditorium instead of after school at 2:30pm.  Please be there tomorrow (Sept. 28th) so we can run through the routine on the stage.

Here's the show order:

Orchrestra- with some chairs on stage

Jazz band - on stage, using orchrestras chairs etc.

Curtain Closes - clean up chairs/ piano etc

Chamber choir sings on front of stage on below stage

There is a practice Tuesday, Sept. 28th in the auditorium at 2:30pm.  You will all need to be there to run through the disco on the stage.  See you in class on Monday!

Announcements

Sept. 27th - Oct. 1st Schedule

• Monday's class (Sept 27th) will meet at the costume closet.  The costume closet is located behind the auditorium, in the band/choir hallway.
• Monday's after school practice will still be held in the Rec Center dance room, but will be at 12:30pm instead of 1:30pm due to the "minimal day" schedule that day (Sept. 27th).
• Wednesday's class (Sept. 29th) will be back in the Rec Center gym.  We will be dancing both the disco and the lindy.
• Don't forget the Light the G Concert that night, Sept. 29th at 7pm in the auditorium.  We will be dancing disco.  I do not yet have a show order, and I have not heard back if we will get to practice on stage before the actual performance.  I will keep you posted as I get more information.
• Friday's class (Oct. 1st) we will be working hard on the lindy.

Other Announcements

• Just a reminder that team fees and money for warm-ups and bags are due October 1st.  If you have any questions about fees please let me know.
• Our first Hee Haws day is Saturday, Oct. 2nd.  There are still six open slots for that day on the sign-up sheet.  Please check your schedules so we can make sure to have enough volunteers for that day. (Oct 2nd from 12-3pm)
• I have entry forms for the Westlake Competition if you are interested in competing on October 9th.

Sept. 15th - Sept. 23rd

Wed. in class I will be assigning disco partners and finishing the routine formations.  Don't forget we will be performing the disco in the Light the G Concert on Sept. 29th in the PG Auditorium.

Fri, Tue, and Thur we will be cleaning the disco and learning the Lindy routine.  Don't forget to bring tennis shoes to class along with your dance shoes on those days.

Mon. practice, Sept. 20th will be for Medley.  I will be teaching small sections before choosing the 8 couples for that routine.

FEES:  Don't forget team fees are due by Oct. 1st!!!  If you are interested in purchasing team warm-ups and bags I will need to have you sign up by Friday, Sept. 17th.  You will need to have those items paid for by Oct. 1st as well.

News this Week

Tue. in class we will be working on disco.  We will have a writing assignment duuring advisory.

We will be having our syllabus test on Thurs.  Please come prepared!!  You will be tested on knowledge of the routine as well as technique for both samba and quickstep.

Monday's rehearsal will be for the whole team.  We will be finishing the syllabus rumba routine.  Please practice and/or watch the video and be prepared to start with the cuban rocks.
